Adaptations: an unusual look at the city
The exhibition “Adaptations” takes an unusual look at the city prompted by spontaneous urban development phenomena, finding that means of intervention often condemned by common wisdom as ‘savage, chaotic and destructive’ may conceal stimulating potential.
A group of artists, led by Craig Buckley, tries to overturn this concept, analyzing uncontrolled urban evolution to produce, for instance, a creative ‘vocabulary’ (Stealth Group – Ana Dzokic, Milica Topolovic, Marc Neelen and Ivan Kucina). Others use virtual tools or real forms to design precise structures of a temporary nature, such as the anomalous geodesic dome by Oscar Tuazon. L.B.
