From Casorati to Beecroft, art from the present takes the stage in Verona
From Felice Casorati to Vanessa Beecroft, via Debora Hirsch, Jaume Plensa, Botto & Bruno, Robert Gligorov, Cindy Sherman, Spencer Tunick, Bill Viola and Chen Zhen. The exhibition Orizzonti Aperti that opens tomorrow in Verona offers a real voyage of discovery into the contemporary art collections from Palazzo Forti – from recent purchases to historic pieces from the archives. Not neglecting of course some of the Italian greats such as Birolli, De Pisis, Paolucci, Sironi, Soffici, Soldati, Tancredi, Tosi, Turcato and Vedova.
A unique chance to find, brought together, some of the most current voices in the international panorama of contemporary art. The exhibition that occupies two floors of the historic building in Verona will also provide a chance to greet the arrival of a new work into the collection. It is the installation by Egyptian artist Medhat Shafik “La dimora del poeta” (2003), donated to Palazzo Forti and realised specially for the “Sala Rosa”. E.S.
