Trasformarte: creativity from Brazil

A project set up in Brazil from an idea of Giada Ruspali to bring together the craft of hand weaving with the creativity of young designers, different realities which as such interact to stimulate the search for a new artistic language. A real cultural event which opened last Saturday in the showroom IC Company in Milan, the results of can be seen in most of the IC Company shops spread around Italy. The manufactured articles of Trasformarte will be distributed in national markets with the direct involvement of the community which produced them – the connection between creator and consumer is therefore not broken. The two artists who featured in this first event are designer Renato Imbroisi and architect and video artist Rachel Rosalen.

Imbroisi has brought the fruit of his work with the Marie, Brazilian weavers with whom he has collaborated to make products destined to become real art pieces. Rachel Rosalen instead communicates through the images which make up her video “Fluorescencias”: San Paolo crossed by a continual erotic flow, which is however denied the possibility of manifesting itself without hypocritical censorship, appears on the walls of the showroom, amongst Imbroisi’s fabrics which interrupt the space like improvised curtains.
