On September 24th, in the spaces of the Fondazione Mazzotta in Milan, a show was inaugurated dedicated to Austrian Expressionism, an ideal continuation of the previous exhibit on the Viennese Secession. The five artists presented (Kubin, Gerstl, Kokoschka, Boeckl e Schiele) active between 1908 and 1925, represent the various forms into which Austrian Expressionism evolved beginning from styles more closely linked to tradition and ending with a more decisive and revolutionary use of shape and color. The show consists of about one hundred fifty works, among which are a selection of eighty works from the Albertina of Vienna, rarely displayed in public. This section is particularly important for artists like Schiele and Kubin whose main expressive tools are drawing and whatercolour.
