1. Festival d‘Arquitectures de Barcelona, Barcelona
Seven kilometers of circuit will become the stage in Bercellona for the festival, which will present 10 ephemeral physical installations and experimental augmented reality installations in public space. In addition, the space between the Ciutat Vella and Eixample neighborhoods will also host popular meals, routes, workshops and debates that will invite us to rediscover the city and ourselves.

2. Biennale Architettura, Venice
The long-awaited Venetian appointment with architecture returns on May 20, opening the doors of the Architecture Biennale this year for the first time led by the African continent. And it is from there that the Workshop of the Future, the theme and title of the 18th Architecture Biennale curated by Lesley Lokko, chosen for the prestigious task by Biennale President Roberto Cicutto "for her calm certainty that we needed." The designer and researcher will conduct research in the Venetian lagoon that is characterized by concreteness, constantly referencing the contemporaneity that day in and day out disrupts our daily lives.

3. AIA Conference on Architecture, San Francisco
Toward the end of spring, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) celebrates the largest annual architecture conference in the United States. After a 2022 edition hosted in Chicago, where the organization explored "architecture's ability to drive new thinking in one of the country's most innovative and sustainable cities," the next edition has already been confirmed to be held in San Francisco, Calif.

4. Copenhagen Architecture Festival, Copenhagen
As Copenhagen celebrates its nomination as UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture for 2023, the Copenhagen Architecture Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary, titled "Life Form" for this edition and will feature 3 physical exhibitions at the Copenhagen Art Hub and a series of digital initiatives. Regenerative design, bioinclusive biomimicry, symbiotic co-creation, architectural asceticism and do-cracy are the main concepts of this edition.

5. London Festival of Architecture, London
The London Festival of Architecture returns in June 2023 for its 16th edition following the theme In Common, which explores shared and communal living spaces. The festival hosts a program of events, including exhibitions, installations, lectures, talks, workshops, tours and film screenings. This year, for the first time, the suburbs of Barnet and Bromley will join the 2023 destinations, as will the Brixton neighborhood of South London's Lambeth. The event destinations feature some of London's most architecturally significant and diverse areas throughout Greater London.

6. Lima International Architecture Biennal, Lima
Organized by the Peruvian Association of Architects and curated by Barclay & Crousse co-founder Jean Pierre Crousse, BIAMLIMA's inaugural 2021 edition was perceived as a gamble to spotlight Peruvian architecture while pushing for its inclusion in the contemporary Latin American circuit, namely Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Paraguay. The event will return this August with the co-founders of 51-1 Arquitectos as curators.

7. Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, Seoul
Portrait titled "Land Architecture, Land Urbanism," director Byoung Soo Cho and curators Eui Young Chun, Jinyoung Lim, Sang Hoon Youm, Sara Kim, and Leif Høgfeldt Hansen will explore how Seoul should be prepared for the next century through the development of a roadmap for the megacity as an ultra-densely populated and environmentally friendly city.

8. Chicago Architecture Biennial, Chicago
The year 2023 also marks the return of the Chicago Biennial to its fifth edition, this year led by local art collective Floating Museum. A multifaceted group with different artistic and educational backgrounds already the protagonist of innovative, forward-looking projects that harmoniously intertwine art, craft, architecture, education and the sociology of the area. To Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spofford, Faheem Majeed, Andrew Schachman and Avery R. Young the burden and honor, therefore, of directing the next kermesse, which, kicking off in September 2023, will be structured around the theme This is a Rehearsal.

9. Sharjah Architecture Triennal, Sharjah
The Sharjah Triennial of Architecture, an event first presented in its inaugural 2018 edition, establishes itself as an international platform that brings together architecture from West Asia, South Asia, and Africa as a unifying point. Tosin Oshinowo, founder of Atelier cmDesign, has been named curator for the 2023 edition, an opportunity for the "decisive and necessary focus on socially responsive approaches to architecture and urbanism." The Beauty of Impermanence, as it has been titled, will reflect on issues of scarcity in the global South and how this challenge has created a culture of reuse, reappropriation, innovation, collaboration and adaptation.
