Floating trampolines promote play in Poitiers

French office WAO – Wild Architecture Objects – designs an inflatable playground on water to create unpredictable movement.

The ephemeral installation by WAO – Wild Architecture Objects is part of an amusement park based on multimedia and immersive experiences, featuring a combination of futuristic landscapes and digital technologies.

The French studio designs five floating rafts with curved shapes, which are directly linked to the walkways of one of the theme park's waterways. Each platform has trampolines that promote play and movement, which are in tune with the oscillations of the inflatables on the water.

“The magic of the water, the unpredictability of the movements, the happiness of moving, create strong moments where weightlessness, euphoria and wonder mix,” told the architects.

For the construction of the temporary intervention, WAO used 410 square meters of woven mesh and 1,000 square meters of canvas, which has inflated with 450 cubic meters of air.
