Mexico. Atelier ARS designs abstract volumes in the landscape

The masterplan of the campus by the Mexican studio is an arrangement of volumes and open spaces which becomes a landscape on its own.

Atelier ARS designs a campus for a corn company

Located in the Mexican region of Jalisco, the campus of a corn company designed by Atelier ARS is a landscape in the landscape. The arrangement of volumes and open spaces gives a sense of abstraction, where each building is defined by a specific material that metaphorically describes its function.

Located in the Mexican region of Jalisco, the campus of a corn company designed by Atelier ARS is a landscape in the landscape. The arrangement of volumes and open spaces gives a sense of abstraction, where each building is defined by a specific material that metaphorically describes its function. The approach of Atelier ARS towards the distribution of the buildings in the masterplan is mainly defined by the interaction between the different activities that take place in the campus, such as harvesting, transportation, sorting out, packing and storage.

The offices and the temporary housing are close to the entrance of the campus, a shelter made of bricks and steel. The production tower appears like a lighthouse in the landscape; indeed, two of its facades are cladded with polycarbonate. Other materials are mainly stones and steel claddings. The open spaces have a contemplative connotation since they are conceived as a memorial for the founder of the company.
