Lacroix Chessex Architectes designed a concrete housing complex in Saint-Sulpice, Switzerland, featuring a clover form and a rough but warm atmosphere that invites for a longer stay.

This residential building is the third project executed by Lacroix Chessex on Bochet street in Saint-Sulpice, Switzerland. The building is composed of six residential apartments and it can be seen as an addition of two single houses, out of which a clover with straight edges would have been cut. The north facade is oriented on the street side, where the entrance is situated, while the other two faces are south-east and the south-west oriented.

Each floor is divided into two parts from north to south and is composed of two apartments (three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one open kitchen facing the living room, a veranda and a balcony). The spaces are accommodated in symmetry with the staircase situated in the center. Each apartment includes a wooden veranda facing south, which allows the outdoor spaces to literally enter into the interior ones.

The bedrooms are all oriented towards the west and the east. The main entrance, the kitchen, the dining and living rooms create all together a wide and complex range of perspectives, with openings up to 180 degrees.

The various materials used for these apartments give a rather rough but warm atmosphere and invite for a longer stay: the wood in the bedroom floors, a stone floor in the living spaces, concrete ceiling and white walls on the rest.
