KHT house

International Royal Architecture
designed in Yamagata prefecture a two-family house with a tatami room placed in between, defined by its asymmetrically curved roof.

KHT house
The KHT house is composed of a one-story apartment for older members of the family, a two-story one for the youngers and a tatami room with a terrace between those two houses.
The two houses shared the asymmetrically curved roof, clad in strong galvalume steel sheets to support the weight of the snow during the winter season.
Although this is an independent type two-family residence, the tatami room is placed in between; while it is separated in two for each of the families by default, it can also be connected for annual ceremonies.
