Moirë arqs designed La Pianola in the La Caleta district of Buenos Aires, overlooking the Atlantic coast.

The house is formed of a single volume, a simple rectangular prism, made more dynamic by a number of vertical planes on the facade.

Intended as a crucial feature that impacts on the interaction with the environment and regulates communication with the outside world, they can be interpreted as an alternation of solid and void, opaque and translucent, light and shadow.

The appearance of La Pianola changes as the day progresses, moving closer or farther away from the contrasting definitions and the activities on the inside relate differently to their environment, prompting a facade design that determines views, ventilation and illumination via this very alternation of solid and void.

The vertical window proportions were also designed to provide extensive views of the natural landscape in the form of vertical frames that rise from ground level to the tops of the trees, which merge with the sky.
