These are the words of Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler, founders of Architecture and Vision, an international multidisciplinary design and research team that develops innovative solutions for aerospace and terrestrial applications. New Leonardos of the 21st century (as elected by the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry), Vittori and Vogler have developed inflatable aerospace stations for experiments on the moon (such as MoonBaseTwo), pressurised laboratory-vehicles for exploring Mars (such as MarsCruiserOne) and a special kind of tent for use in the desert (DesertSeal). Their ideal clients range from airlines, space agencies, research institutes and universities to companies and private clients. Aside from technology, their main points of reference are eco-sustainability, exploitation of local resources and the human figure. From 11 March to 24 April, their work is on show at the exhibition “From Pyramids to Spacecraft” at the Italian Institute for Culture in Chicago.E.S.
