Divided into three sections – architecture, interiors, degree projects – the award promoted by Ascer (the Spanish association of tile producers) has over the years highlighted, and supported with cash prizes, projects that are not only particularly interesting for their use of ceramics.

The prize for the 2007 architecture section was awarded to architect Vázquez Consuegra for the project Castilla La Mancha Archives in Toledo, while a special mention went to José Mª de la Puerta Montoya and Carlos Asensio Galvín for their project Home and Integrated Care Centre for the Mentally Handicapped.

Zoldán+Berengué Architects took the prize for the interiors category with Alfombras Cerámicas (ceramic carpets) created for a private house.

The award, into its fifth edition, is presented during Cevisama, the tiling trade fair held every year in Valencia. Registration is open for next year’s competition. M.C.T.
