Rome is reviewing the work of the Japanese designer, Toyo Ito, in an impressive one-man show. Ito was awarded the Leone d’oro for his career three years ago at the Venice Biennial and, this year, he received the prestigious gold medal from the Royal Institute of British Architects.

The works on exhibit include the recent Tod’s building in the Omotesando quarter of Tokyo; the Relaxation Park in Torrevieja; and two modules of the Naguisa bench purchased by Maxxi and created particularly for the outside. The show also includes examples of his early work including the house in aluminum in Fujisawashi, from 1970. E.S.
