As of next April, Terry Hill will become the new boss of the giant Arup, which has 7 thousand employees in 32 countries. Flanking him will be Cecil Balmond, recent winner of the Jencks Award. Already at the head of Arup Europe, Balmond is one of the most brilliant and renowned structural engineers in the world and, from 1968 to today, has worked with the greatest names in international architecture - from Koolhaas (with whom he is terminating the Porto concert hall) to Libeskind (with whom he is working on the Jewish museum in San Francisco).
Hill, who will replace Bob Emerson, is a civil engineer and an economist. He has been with the group since 1976 and has led the infrastructures division since 1999.
