Building approval has been granted for the project by Britain’s Richard Rogers to create a new Maggie’s Centre in London. These structures were started by Maggie Jencks to alleviate the distress of cancer sufferers and to offer them and their families medical and psychological comfort that is rarely found elsewhere.

In architectural terms this mission is translated into a domestic scale and a highly flexible room layout that, in most cases, includes a library, a kitchen, a large leisure room and one counselling therapy. The project by Rogers will materialise in Fulham Palace Road, as part of the Charing Cross hospital structure.
