Inside the Surface: FMG’s Vision of Porcelain Stoneware
Innovating with materials for interiors and architecture is still possible: Full Body³ is FMG’s latest creation, reimagining full-body porcelain stoneware.
During these ten years Giorgio Grassi developed four museum projects for Berlin, Osnabrück, Cologne and Schwäbisch Hall.
These four projects, together with a public building in Treviglio, the church of Porto-Santa Rufina in Rome and the rebuilding of the Valkhof castle in Nimega, are on show from today to the end of April in the Spazio Mostre at the Facoltà di Architettura Civile at Bovisa, Milan.
The original drawings and models on show demonstrate Grassi’s coherent path pursuing issues which made continual reference to the experience of ancient architecture, “the theoretical and practical foundations of a way of working in the world of necessary forms in which critical exercise is reflected in the tradition of building and the concrete rules of the trade”.
To coincide with the exhibition, on Thursday 10 April a debate will be held in room CT3 at 16.00, introduced by Antonio Monestiroli, taking part in which will be Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani, Umberto Barbieri and Giorgio Grassi.
