Scully Prize: winners Venturi and Scott Brown
Design team Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown are to receive this year the prestigious award dedicated to Vincent J. Scully which, since 1999, has been given to those distinguished in the field of professional practice, teaching, architectural criticism, landscape architecture, conservation and town planning.
At the awards ceremony, due to take place 8 December at 16.30 at the National Building Museum in Washington, the architect couple will give a short talk on the use – good and bad – of context in contemporary architecture, reconsidering the objectives and function of architecture today.
