Yesterday, in Lugano at the age of 47 the Greek architect and urbanist Yorgos Simeoforidis, one of the most appreciated young masters of the renewal of the contemporaries European cities. Historian and critic of architecture and urbanism, he was professor at the Academy of Mendrisio and also on to the Faculty of Civil Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan. Born in Athens in 1955, after having studied both in Florence and in London, he began his career in University and grew to be recognized on an international level for the great creativity he used for the “urban planning”. Among his recent publications we can find a monographic study about modern architecture in Greece and the book “Diacomidis & Haritos. Architettura di trasparenza” (Diacomidis & Haritos. Architecture of transparency) (Libria, 2001).
