An exhibition dedicated to architect Manfredi Nicoletti opens on 18 January at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Los Angeles. Drawings, renderings, design sketches and models are displayed alongside images of organic forms by way of explaining the approach of this architect originally from Rome who is continually in search of solutions which are both ecological and energy conscious.
His most famous works include the Helicoidal Skyscraper in New York (1974), the Cardiff Bay Opera House (1994) and the New Acropolis Museum in Athens (1998). Nicoletti, who has in the past worked with names such as Giacomo Balla, Buckminster Fuller, Walter Gropius, Louis Kahn and Pier Luigi Nervi will be present at the exhibition opening.
