As the name suggests, the Airstream Studio F.A. Porsche Concept Trailer is a new trailer envisioned for Airstream by Studio F.A. Porsche, the design studio of Butzi Porsche.
The goal of the co-creation project was to design a camping trailer that could be stylish and aerodynamic in order to be towed easily by an electric vehicle.
“Our customer base is about twice as likely to own an EV than the general population,” said Bob Wheeler, Airstream’s CEO. “Towing a travel trailer cuts down on the range. Weight and aerodynamics play a big part in that.”

The Concept brings together elements that contribute to the classic Airstream aesthetic, plus added touches like the extensible roof and the hatchback rear that can open to give access to the trailer’s living area.
Not only Airstream, but also competing companies Winnebago and Bowlusare currently  exploring the future of towable trailers in the EV era, .

A real-life 1/3-scale prototype of the Airstream Studio F.A. Porsche Concept Trailer will be on display at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, starting March 10th.
