Secunda Natura. Nothing Here Is Just a Wall is the project born from the collaboration between Bianco67, an Italian atelier specialising in the working of natural stone, and the design and research studio Parasite 2.0. At its core is reclaimed travertine — ranging in tone from white to yellow through warmer shades tending towards red — reinterpreted not as a material to be shaped but as a device capable of generating open configurations. Stone fragments generally excluded from standard production are reactivated and transformed into structural and narrative elements, giving rise to new relationships between technique, form and function. The system comprises three elements that operate between object and architecture, suggesting possible uses without rigidly defining them and maintaining a hybrid, transformable nature. Robotic machining pushes the structural and formal potential of the material with a precision that approaches artisanal quality, while the surfaces are traversed by motifs evoking a classical imaginary with references to the marine world. Steel joints introduce a principle of flexibility that makes the system adaptable to different scales and contexts. Secunda Natura follows on from the XC Objects series, presented between 2024 and 2025 in Milan, Miami and Naples, continuing an approach that questions traditional industrial logic and reflects on the mechanisms of waste generated by a production system increasingly influenced by aesthetic and digital dynamics. The result restores natural stone to a new centrality within the contemporary design landscape, transforming the production process itself into expressive content.
Secunda Natura is the reclaimed travertine system developed by Bianco67 with Parasite 2.0
A wall-mounted device with integrated functions, a vertical element with mirror, and a coffee table: three pieces forming an open, modular system in travertine, worked with robotic technologies and jointed in steel.
