The world of Abet told by Iacchetti and Ragni with a new showroom

In the historical plant in Bra, Italy, the new exhibition space represents the brand's journey and its experimental approach with almost 500 materials on display.

120 panels and 300 samples recount the history of Abet laminates and an important piece of Italian design history. The new showroom of the brand born in Bra (Cuneo) at the end of the 1950s is designed as a centre in which to experience the decorations and textures that have inspired the best international designers, and that movements such as Alchimia and Memphis have made famous all over the world.

The new space inside the company's historic plants has been designed by two of the most prominent Italian personalities on the international scene: Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni. In a large, minimalist space, the designers compose unique panels and furnishings, with a specially designed mechanical system that slides the large sheets on special wheels to offer visitors a complete view of the decorated slab.

“The sample room is the metaphorical nest from which the materials take flight to reach every corner of the world. In the sample room, love at first sight is born between designers and materials, and it is nice to think that in Abet World many design stories can begin by comparing the different samples, aligning them on the table to make a more accurate analysis,” say Ragni and Iacchetti.
