iKuddle is a retrofuturistic litter box that cleans itself

It reminds of a retrofuturistic radio, but it’s a fully automated system for cat waste disposal that even packs an intelligent deodorizing system.

First seen live at CES 2020, iKuddle is a new smart cat toilet that eliminates the need of scooping after your pet’s waste. Everytime a cat exit the box, the device activate its automated scooping mechanism to pick up anything that’s left inside. The cat’s discharge is separated from the sand by a mechanical shovel, which then dumps everything into a bag in a separate compartment. The cat owner only needs to take out the already sealed waste bag indicatively every week.

An integrated deodorizing system that kills 80 to 90% of the usual cat litter smells and the retro looking design make iKuddle a good fit in every room of the house. The whole device is powered by a single battery that lasts two week and can be ejected from the box for easy recharging. Like every smart gadget in 2020, even the iKuddle isn’t safe from integrating some form of AI: the litter box pairs with a dedicated app that keeps track of your cat’s habits and gives you a feedback about your pet’s health.

The iKuddle has been successfully funded on Indiegogo at the end of August 2019, but the production has suffered some delays in the last few months due to a redesign of the shovel system. Production has started again, and the product will be available to order after the Indiegogo backers’ units have shipped. The final market price for the iKuddle hasn’t been announced yet, but it should be between 300 and 400€.
