Stockholm-based Transparent Sound, as the name suggests, designs and creates see-through speakers that expose the components of the speaker itself in an artful way.
Born as People People from an art school project that went viral, the company has then changed its name and launched a Small version of their original Transparent Speaker.
The new model has moved from a black metal frame to a more polished white single-piece aluminum frame. The side panels are made of tempered glass, with two 3” full-range drivers sitting on the front one. All the electronics are packed below, in a narrow base that makes the Small Transparent Speaker look like an upside-down fish tank, or a Jeff Koons’ piece. The speaker comes with USB power, inputs for smart devices like a Chromecast or Amazon Echo, and of course Bluetooth connectivity.
At £450 it’s definitely not the most affordable speaker on the market, but it’s guaranteed to be a great conversation starter.
