Many smartphone cameras nowadays are able to shoot pictures with an impressive quality, thanks to the evolution of high-resolution and low-noise sensors paired with impressive AI-based software enhancements. Still, most of the pictures we take with our smartphones remain ungodly awful. The reason is often a general unfamiliarity with proper photo lighting, the real element setting apart photo professionals from the amateur, and good shots from dull, uninteresting pictures. LIT Flash is a handheld Xenon light, currently being funded on Kickstarter, that tries to change exactly that by offering an easy-to-use, portable and effective way to light up scenes and subjects. Sure, you won’t be able to just point the Lit Flash at random and hope it will automatically beautify a horribly composed, ill-conceived smartphone picture. The portable flooder light is more of a nice mobile substitute for professional lighting setups, capable of making your pictures look less dull and a tad more professional. Developed to pair perfectly with smartphones via Bluetooth, it will be even able to control the shooting with a button, to let the photographer change its perspective and comfortably experiment with creative lighting. Lit Flash is currently being funded on Kickstarter and it will ship in January 2020. You can reserve one with a minimum pledge of $179 — retail price will be $329.
