Finstral. Windows with a slim profile combine aesthetics and functionality

For the Fürstenburg boarding school in Burgusio, architect Werner Tscholl has chosen ultra-thin windows that contrast with the white facade.

The Fürstenburg boarding school in Burgusio, on the border between Italy and Switzerland, is home to 100 students from the professional agricultural and forestry school. One of the main goals for the designer Werner Tscholl was to minimise waste without giving up the elegance that distinguishes the building. Featuring an ultra-slim profile, the 180 windows produced by Finstral are the key element for the success of the project.

The Finstral frames are part of the Top 72 Nova-line line of PVC aluminum. The main features of the windows are their profile – only 50 mm – and the black color on the outside that contrasts with the white of the facade. Moreover, thanks to the self-cleaning effect of the surfaces, these windows do not require special care. Finstral windows and doors contribute to the energy efficiency of the building: PVC multi-chamber profiles with median seal, high thermal insulation glass spacers and triple glazing guarantee certified thermal insulation values up to Uw 0.80 W / m²K.
