Dedar presents the 2018 collection, a wide range of new fabrics and woven textiles, with heterogeneous and diverse inspirations that give shape to strongly distinctive patterns. The yarns are treated in different ways creating different types of weavings, sometimes leaning towards abstraction and graphic signs; elsewhere, the richness of detailing exalts the material qualities of the fabrics.
The geometric motifs are declined in different scales: the variation spans from the big scale which evokes the primitive art, to the small scale that makes the rough silk reverberate. The relationship with history reinterprets the historical archive’s fabrics and genres – such as tapestry – resulting in textile products that are very contemporary. The necktie, a cornerstone of man’s fashion, is the inspiration for Tie-Break, a line that combines nine textiles and 50 colors. At the core of Dedar production is the velvet collection, which has been updated and extended, a celebration of the natural and savage side of beauty.
