Meet Ikea’s colorful, standalone speakers—no Sonos, all style

IKEA is moving on from its former partnership with Sonos. A couple of months after the news spread, the company announced the Nattbad and Blomprakt series, which take the brand’s smart speaker line-up in a different design direction. The new products are designed to fit into the home with an approach that treats audio devices as pieces of furniture worth displaying rather than hiding away. The goal is to prioritise affordability and simplicity. The retro-inspired Nattbad speaker brings the nostalgic charm of vintage radios to modern homes. Available in yellow, pink, and black from July 2025, the speaker offers an affordable introduction to home audio. The Blomprakt lamp-speaker combines audio and ambient lighting in one sleek package thanks to its angled top, which directs the built-in light to set the mood in any room. The lamp-speaker will be available from October in beige, black or blue.

Both Bluetooth speakers are designed for immediate use, offering features such as straightforward multi-speaker setup and Spotify Tap, enabling users to connect their music streaming account without any technical expertise. “We’ve learned a great deal about creating high-quality sound experiences that are easy to use”, said IKEA’s range manager, David Granath. “We understand how people want to incorporate sound into their homes in a way that adds atmosphere and feels natural. Our aim is to make sound accessible, functional and enjoyable without adding complexity.'
