Just last year, Nike invited Domus to its headquarters in Beaverton to share the story of its relentless pursuit of innovation – one that began more than 30 years ago with a clear goal: to create the perfect modern shoe, fluid and dynamic with every step. In 2024, Nike once again challenged the limits of Air technology with the launch of the Air Max Dn (read about it here). The shoe marked a fundamental milestone in the brand’s technical research, featuring a dual-pressure Air unit – two interconnected chambers with varying pressure levels – allowing for optimal airflow with every step.
We kept returning to what makes some of our favorite Air Max classics so special: you put them on and go. No matter what happens throughout the day, they are always appreciated and exceed expectations.

But innovation never stops, and Nike knows this better than anyone. With the start of the new year, Dynamic Air technology has evolved to embrace a new experiment: the Air Max Dn8. Designed as an athlete’s shoe, the Dn8 extends Air technology across the entire length of the shoe, now incorporating not one, but two dual-pressure Air units alongside eight interconnected tubes. The result? A pressurized airflow that ensures unparalleled cushioning and an exceptional sense of fluidity like never before.
“When designing the Dn8, we kept returning to what makes some of our favorite Air Max classics so special: you put them on and go. No matter what happens throughout the day, they are always appreciated and exceed expectations,” said Jonathan Kosenick, Lead Footwear Designer, Men’s Lifestyle.

The Air Max Dn8 is conceived as a high-performance and exclusive shoe, yet designed for everyday wear, making it extremely comfortable and durable.
The first Dn8 colorway, Hyper Pink, drops on SNKRS and at select retailers on February 6, with a global release on nike.com set for March 6. Expect additional colorways to roll out in the following weeks.
