The electric G-Class will come equipped with four motors, one near each wheel, each individually controlled to enhance off-road performance. Together, these motors produce 579 horsepower, positioning the electric G-class as a high-performance vehicle. According to Mercedes, the performance will be comparable to the AMG-branded G63 gas-powered version of the luxury SUV.
Inside its frame, the G-Class EV hides a large 116kWh battery pack protected from water and off-road dirt by a torsion-resistant casing. The battery enables the car to drive for about 473 km on a single charge, according to Mercedes’ current WLTP-sanctioned estimate. The new G-Class EV will be available in late 2024 or early 2025, with a starting price for the Edition One version (the only one available at launch) of about €123.000.
