The Centroparco pond in Segrate, a 60-metre-deep former sand quarry near Milan, will be transformed into a floating park named “Oasis - The Segrate Oasis” by the Danish studio MAST .

The project will feature buildings characterised by Scandinavian aesthetics connected by a walkway on the surface of the water that touches the shore and then turn into a bridge and a series of floating islands. The project will host a spa, a restaurant and a boat rental, so that visitors can reach the green islets in the middle of the lake.

The studio, which is working with the Segrate Council to implement the project, plans to build the buildings using locally sourced timber.
