Located on Düsseldorf’s Königsallee, the 375,000-square-foot development named Calatrava Boulevard includes luxury retail, upmarket restaurant spaces, and workplaces. The first two floors, with a total area of 160,000 square feet, will host luxury restaurants and retail spaces, while the upper floors have 236,000 square feet of office space.
The design will feature a curved vaulted roof, 135 feet long and orientated towards Martin-Luther-Platz, which will never exceed the height of the tallest buildings already present in the area. The interior will be covered by what the study described as “sinusoidal waveforms”, which extend outwards to create unity between spaces.
Construction works on the project started recently and are expected to be completed by 2028, also considering the revitalization of the existing buildings along Königsallee.
