Lego’s first wooden home accessories lineup launches

After sixty years, Lego goes back to its origins and starts again working with wood, of course eco-sustainable.

Lego’s created in partnership with Room Copenhagen its first collection of wooden home accessories, composed by desk drawers, book racks, wall hangers and picture frames, manufactured from FSC-certified Red Oak.

Few people know that, before switching to plastic, Lego until 1960 obtained its bricks from wood. This material was then abandoned by the company for decades, until a version of the iconic wooden Minifigure was launched in 2018.

Each item of the collection is assembled by hand and has been designed to scale of the original brick dimensions, in order to give the possibility to stack desk drawers and picture frames just like Lego bricks. Furthermore, the neutral palette of the objects fit right in to a multitude of spaces, aesthetics and atmospheres.
