Nike has introduced a new pair of shoes that can be put on and taken off just using your feet, for a total hands-free and easy-on easy-off experience.
They're called Nike GO FlyEase, and they're a little marvel of fashion design. Not in terms of aesthetics - you can like the style or not - but in terms of functional design applied to fashion. When you're not wearing them, the GO FlyEase rest in an open position, ready to receive your feet like a pair of slippers. As soon as you're ready to put them on, you get in and push: the patent-pending bi-stable hinge and midsole tensioner will do the rest, wrapping the shoe around your foot. When it's time to take them off, the mechanism is inverted: you hold the little back spur with the tip of one foot and remove the other one from the shoe.  Simple, effective, kind of magical. The idea is not aimed just at fancy (and lazy) sneakers enthusiasts. Instead, the Go FlyEase are helpful in the case of people with disabilities who would have a hard time tying their shoes and putting them on and off. Just like an old pair of sneakers, so worn-out that you don't need to untie them to put them on and take off, but without the shabby look and the bad smell.
