Inside the historic Prada Donna store in Milan, the fashion house unveils a limited edition of just 100 pieces of the bag originally created in 2018 by the renowned Milanese architect  Cini Boeri. The reissue marks the centenary of Boeri’s birth, which was commemorated last year with an exhibition at the Biblioteca del Parco Sempione, where the original prototype of the bag was also displayed as a lasting symbol of her timeless design philosophy.

Originally conceived for the Prada Invites project, the bag was part of a creative initiative that invited architects Cini Boeri, Kazuyo Sejima, and Elizabeth Diller to reinterpret Prada’s signature nylon through their own unique design language. In Boeri’s case, the result was an expandable and modular accessory — a perfect distillation of her user-centered, functional, and adaptable design approach. This 2024 re-edition is crafted in black Re-Nylon, Prada’s sustainable textile made from recycled ocean plastics and discarded textile fibers. It comes with a special tag featuring Boeri’s signature and a note marking the 100th anniversary of her birth.

The project is a collaboration between Prada and the Cini Boeri Archive, an institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy of the architect and her innovative body of work. Founded after her passing in 2020, the archive safeguards a rich collection of sketches, prototypes, letters, and photographs, offering insight into Boeri’s significant contribution to postwar Italian architecture and design.
