Renzo Piano to design a cultural hub dedicated to innovation in Florida

The Center will house an incubator for the development of innovative entrepreneurial projects, events, performances, and educational spaces for STEM subjects and the arts.

The Italian Pritzker Price Renzo Piano has been chosen to design a large arts and culture center for Boca Raton, in Palm Beach County, Florida: The Center for Arts and Innovation.

Located in the heart of the city, the Center will serve as an aggregation space, able to accommodate 6,000 guests, with spaces for events and performances, an incubator lab for the empowerment of innovative entrepreneur projects, and educational spaces for the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and arts.

The idea of the project has been developed to celebrate the innovations in various fields promoted by South Florida, among which stands out for example the IBM production campus designed in 1968 by Marcel Breuer and Robert Gatje. The aim of realizing a creative infrastructure emerged in 2018 and Piano will begin work on the project in October of this year, then the construction works are expected to start in 2025.
