Charles Jencks, architecture historian, landscape designer and theorist, passed away at the age of 80. Jencks co-founded the Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres after his wife died in 1995, based on the idea that a well-designed place can support psychologically both patients and caregivers. Among the books he published, in The Language of Post-Modern Architecture (1997) he discussed his theories on modern and postmodern architecture.

Marble matters– exploring Carrara’s legacy
