The “shipwreck skyscraper” may soon be Prague's tallest building

Top Tower is a project by sculptor David Černý and architect Tomáš Císař for the city of Prague: a provocative way to reflect on climate change.

The project of a building which would become the tallest in all Czech Republic has been presented by sculptor David Černý and architect Tomáš Císař from Black n’ Arch. Designed for Prague, Top Tower is planned to be 135 meters high and to be built starting from 2021 after being approved.

Merging art and architecture, the building will incorporate on one side the red skeleton of a ship, like it was the result of an apocalypse, concept inspired by the climate issues we’re living nowadays. The skyscraper, that will be covered by plants through the years, offers views from the top, that can be reached via exterior elevators. Top Tower would provide offices, a cultural center and rental housing, offering at the same time a provocative way to reflect on climate change.
