Inspired by cat’s love for boxes, Korean design studio Más created a modular, magnetic pet playground that could meet the visual expectations of today’s interior design.
Seoul-based studio Más was searching for pet furniture that could meet the design expectations of contemporary interiors. The Lunarbox project began with the question if pet furniture could be in harmony within a domestic space.
Based on the behavior of cats, who feel stability and comfort by entering a sheltered space, the Korean designers selected the shape of the box. The design searches for balance between the straight line from the square and the curved line of the circle. The result is a modular system that works with special Neodymium magnets coated with PVC, to prevent from sliding. The structures are made in powdercoated steel and birch plywood with a water-based finish that comes in white, jasmine or black.
