Wedgwood re-imagined

Lee Broom partnered with British luxury brand Wedgwood for a reinterpretation of its 250-year heritage in a capsule collection of new iconic pieces.

British luxury brand Wedgwood asked Lee Broom to reinterpret its iconic vases and bowls with a capsule collection inspired by its 250-year heritage. The collaboration wants to be a celebration of the ‘Made in Britain’.

Founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, this capsule collection celebrates the values of design and innovation by using the famous Jasperware, taking cues from iconic historical pieces. Broom looked to the Wedgwood archive and archetypal designs to produce his personal versions of these classics. Broom has taken several classic Wedgwood silhouettes from different periods and stripped back their ornate details to create a collection of strikingly modern designs.

Attracted initially to the timeless black and white stripes of the Panther Vase for its sense of modernity, Broom used this as a starting point for the collection, combining the graphic stripe with postmodern elements, introducing vibrant colours and glossy lacquered textures which juxtapose the matte finish of the traditional Jasperware.
