25 years of Muji

To coincide with its 25th anniversary in Europe Muji will stage a curated exhibition of archival, rarely and never-before-seen posters and a series of events across Europe.

Twenty-five years since the first Muji store opened outside Japan in London’s Liberty department store, introducing understated Japanese minimalism to Europe, the brand celebrates this milestone for ten days at the end of the month with a series of events across Europe, inviting customers and fans of the brand to recall their all-time favourites.

To coincide with the milestone, Muji will stage a curated exhibition of archival, rarely and never-before-seen posters. The exhibition will take place in London and Milan. The Japanese brand also commissioned Tokyo-based British artist Andrew Joyce to illustrate the 25 most iconic products on collectible postcards.

The series will be installed across 10 stores in London, Paris, Milan, Berlin, Munich, Barcelona and Lisbon and invites shoppers to take home a memento of their favourite product. The installation acts as a historical mood board, which encourages visitors to each store to leave with their own piece of Muji history
