Ten projects for the weekend where landscape is subject and object of a research.

The idea of landscape explored in different ways: houses that overlook their surroundings, bridges and walkways immersed in nature but also public spaces in town, a photoessay and an art work immersed in the landscape. Ten projects recently published on DomusWeb for a weekend reading.

– Located on the outskirsts of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Casa Candelaria belongs to the place where it uproots and seeks the integration and mimicry with the surrounding landscape.

– Conceived by Élodie Boutry Panorama is a space which can be crossed, a partly open structure, creating privileged viewpoints of the landscape and immersing us in a colourful world.

– In a war against its own weight, the stairway tower designed by studio Close to Bone, was the response for a vandal-proof structure that overlooked the fairy tale forest of Kabouterbos.

– Gigi Cifali depicts the abusive settlements inside the Vesuvius National Park in the manner of a landscape painter of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries.

– Ensamble Studio conceived Structures of Landscape in Fishtail, Montana, going back to primary elements to configure a site-specific architecture in harmony with nature.

– In the breathtaking lansdcape along the Paiva river in Portugal, engineering studio Trimétrica designed a walkway in dialogue with nature, morphology and panoramic views.

– Camarim Arquitectos designed a holiday house in the Portuguese countryside as a building that appears from the landscape with a wall that references to the regional slate buildings.

– In the garden of an extensive South African villa, Metropolis draws a simple and open pavilion from which to appreciate the natural landscape around it.

– Linearscape Architecture built an elevated trail of bridges suspended above the natural environment of the Adirondacks to offer visitors a new perspective of the forest.

– SWA brought back to its community what once was a historic gathering place downtown El Paso, introducing a new landscape design and providing a number of facilities.
