FontanaArte 2016

FontanaArte will present its 2016 sophisticated and high-tech Collection at its flagship store in Corso Monforte, Milan, during Salone del Mobile. #MDW2016

It is a collection of lamps that boast innovative design, and it includes some of the new products that were previewed at Salone 2015. Many of them have already become bestsellers, as these highly sought-after lamps are seen as ideal solutions for both residential use and contract lighting.

Volée, Odio Fioravanti
In particular there is IO, the wall lamp designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, and Odo Fioravanti’s Volée, which this year has been turned into a reading light and task light with USB port. Then there is Bianca, the refined blown glass lamp designed by Matti Klenell, which has seen its family grow considerably this year to now include five members (pendant, ceiling/wall, floor, table and free-standing versions) in three different sizes.

HollyG, Giorgio Biscaro
The combination of an expanding product line and extensive research into both technology and aesthetics has led to the further development of lamps, such as: the Kinx task light, part of a series of lamps designed by Karim Rashid that includes the Apex and Flex wall lamps; HollyG, the fascinating table lamp designed by Giorgio Biscaro; the Siptel and Tail families, designed by Giulio Iacchetti and Carlo Colombo respectively; Nebra, by Sebastian Herkner; and Ambra, by Marcello Ziliani.
What’s new this year: the magic of Paola Navone’s Pinecone, available in pendant and table versions; the new Ziggie desk light, developed by FA DesignLab; and an extremely refined version of Bianca, whose new colorful transparent glass lets you create wonderful hanging light compositions that will surely impress. LED lights are becoming more and more efficient, in terms of both their engineering and their use in lighting technique. This makes them ideal for contract/hospitality/office lighting, while at the same time a perfect match for residential settings as well.

Pinecone, Paola Navone
FontanaArte’s showroom design for Milan Design Week is inspired by ‘The Factory’, Andy Warhol’s legendary New York City studio that he founded in the 1960s. The CalviBrambilla design firm wanted to help FontanaArte recreate the atmosphere of that immortal place, which was also called the ‘Silver Factory’ thanks to the tin foil that decorated its walls. It was a venue of the avant-garde, a space for experimentation, a creative design hub that was unconditionally nonconformist, a reference point and hangout for artists, designers, musicians and stylists from all over the world. In the showroom, Andy Warhol’s famous silkscreens, boxes and other icons of Pop Art become display cases for FontanaArte’s lamps. It is an ironic reference to the works of art that were mass-produced in the New York City loft, just like on a factory assembly line.
