Inblue & Inwhite

Monica Förster, after a study of consumers’ eating habits, designed for Rörstrand a new collection of tableware as a reinterpretation of the classical blue and white porcelain.

Inwhite & Inblue captures the essence of what is required of tableware today.
The service also provides an up-to-the-minute reinterpretation of the blue and white porcelain that has played such an important role in a Rörstrand tradition that dates back to 1726. With Inwhite & Inblue Rörstrand clearly demonstrates that it is ready to step into the future with confidence and charisma.

Before the creative process began, a study was made of consumers’ eating habits that then formed the basis for the design of the six items in the series. The result is a timeless everyday service ideally adapted to the way people live their lives today. The bowl, pasta bowl, side plate, dinner plate, large serving dish and mug are all available in white or decorated in blue – two distinctive expressions that team up very well together.

The decoration of Inblue is a new take on Rörstrand classics such as Koka Blue and Blå Eld. The blue pigment appears to seep and spread over the pieces in that characteristic Rörstrand manner, adding an extra dash of personality to each item.

“The service is a tribute to the long and varied history of Rörstrand design, but also a way to maintain the appeal of classic blue and white porcelain in the future” says Monica Förster.

Inwhite aim to be a timeless everyday service ideally adapted to the way people live their lives today. The form has been inspired by Blanche, one of Rörstrand’s classic services from the 1930s.

The straight, clean-cut lines combine to produce a softly rounded appearance as the plates and bowls float on the table. A discreet R in relief on the side of each piece, proudly proclaims the provenance of Inwhite and gives it the seal of quality.
