Half decade beast / 92

At Rossana Orlandi, French brand Moustache present a collection of ten new products as well as a reflection on the way that design is produced and consumed today.

At the Fair for the fifth time, French brand Moustache present ten new products brought together in the new “Half decade Beast” that, as always, combines the demands of the market, high quality and a shared reflection on the way we produce and consume objects today.

Some of our favourite new pieces were the Strap chair by Scholten & Baijings, a reworking of the classic Vienna cane chair with new materials (metal structure and straps in fabric) and a touch of colour; the Cape lamp in polycarbonate by Constance Guisset (curved lines that design a silhouette half-way between the animal world and the vegetable one); the Aurore lamp by Ferréol Babin (with a metal base and shade in coloured glass that produces light resembling a rainbow or sunrise); and two products by Jean-Baptiste Fastrez: the Scarabée vase, made up of two glazed ceramic shells to fix with an elastic strap and the Boat mirror, made with PVC fabric borrowed from the world of sailing. The installation is also by Fastrez, a soft walkway that inflates and deflates, on which the objects are placed, somehow bringing them to life.
