Porcelain Shoes

Young fashion designer Laura Papp designed for her bachelor degreethe Porcelain Shoes inspired by the stone surfaces of Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia.

Porcelain Shoes
Inspired by the stone surfaces, the dripstones and the Sagrada Familia, Laura Papp, an Hungarian fashion designer, created the Porcelain Shoes.

She reproduced the rustic surface on the platform using white porcelain, a strong material able to imitate any detailed surface.

The shoes can hold more than 160 kilograms but the platform is only 1 kilogram because the wall of the heels is only half centimeter thick. Papp creates three pairs of shoes made in three different textures and vamps.

Ada Bursi’s legacy is transformed into an exam project of the two-year Interior Design specialist program at IED Turin, unfolding a narrative on contemporary living, between ecology, spatial flexibility, and social awareness.
