Bauhaus.Solar: is an interdisciplinary platform created to raise
awareness of the new energy era and to establish pioneering
innovations and inspired ideas methodically and aesthetically
in urban living spaces. Building-integrated photovoltaics
(BIPV) play a fundamental role in this process: its
multifunctional potential opens up new opportunities for
ecological design in the energy-efficient construction and
renovation sector.
The 4th international scientific Bauhaus.solar congress
supports this development by promoting interdisciplinary
dialogue between architects, urban and regional planners,
landscape architects, civil engineers, technicians, designers
and users, and representatives of the solar, property and
financial industries. The conference and a parallel exhibition,
staged by the Thuringian Solar Industry Association
SolarInput and its partners, offer the chance to network
and find project partners for realising innovations.

The academic support of the Bauhaus.solar series of congresses
has allowed the topics of sustainability and energy,
which the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar has regarded
as very important for a long time, to be increasingly highlighted
in everyday research and teaching.
In Solarvalley Mitteldeutschland, one of the world's largest
photovoltaic clusters, research institutions and solar companies
are also increasingly initiating and implementing research
projects for building-integrated photovoltaics.
The excellent submissions for the Europe-wide Bauhaus.
solar AWARD prove that the Bauhaus.solar vision is becoming
more firmly established year on year. This year, for the
second time, the award is being offered by SolarInput and
Solarvalley Mitteldeutschland. The funders have created a
platform for young architects who combine solar energy
with innovation construction.
