Krasnodar (formerly Ekaterinodar), historically the main city of Kuban Cossacks and the White movement of southern Russia, is presently under reconstruction.
Eclectic, Revivalist and Art Nouveau houses from the 19th and early 20th centuries in the city center are now and then replaced and combined with modern buildings.
On the contrary to Moscow (see related articles), pseudo-traditional architecture is not conspicuous, which is regarded as an advantage of Krasnodar reconstruction.
