For 2026, MV Line once again takes an active role in the discourse of Milan Design Week, addressing the crucial relationship between light and the built environment, at both the urban scale and within domestic architecture. The company’s presence unfolds across the geography of the Fuorisalone. A first focal point is Officina, the site-specific event where One Works presents its Interior Concept & Product Design division, alongside UrbanGrid, a concept developed with MV Line: a scalable and adaptive aluminium system for public spaces integrating patented solar shading, lighting, Wi-Fi connectivity, and passive energy management. The brand also returns to the MoscaPartners Variations exhibition at Palazzo Litta with “Sunflower,” an installation derived from the SunDrive awning.
This contribution is grounded in over thirty years of experience of MV Line, now a leading Italian group in the design and production of insect protection and solar shading systems for residential architecture, both indoor and outdoor. Its growth trajectory combines technological innovation, design culture, and a meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a portfolio of solutions that integrate seamlessly across a wide range of architectural contexts.
Within the indoor segment, Phantom25 represents one of the most advanced expressions of these principles. More than a conventional insect screen, it is conceived as a discreet architectural element, defined by essential lines and minimal visual impact. Versatility is central to its design: components are engineered for ease of installation and removal, as well as adaptability to existing and irregular openings. These qualities have been recognised through multiple awards, including the Sustainability Prize, alongside the achievement of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), among the first in its category.
The focus then shifts outdoors with MV Living, the group’s division dedicated to exterior environments. The Ischia bioclimatic pergola redefines outdoor living as a year-round experience, using adjustable louvres to regulate daylight and natural ventilation in response to changing climatic conditions. Entirely made of aluminium, Ischia can be customised with integrated LED lighting and various shading solutions, positioning architectural integration as a matter of sustainability, circularity, and user interpretation.
Completing the narrative is Papillon, the shading system designed by Giulio Iacchetti and first presented during Milan Design Week 2025. Inspired by the light movement of butterfly wings, the project – also recognised with international design awards – redefines the concept of shade through a single, decisive gesture: the elimination of the central pole. This approach is complemented by smart features including automatic closing, wind detection, and integrated dual LED lighting, extending usability into the evening hours.
With SunDrive, another project by Iacchetti, MV Line renews its presence at Palazzo Litta within MoscaPartners Variations, expanding its exploration of light and form. In the “Sunflower” installation, the awning is transfigured into a sculptural element inspired by nature, echoing the opening of flowers toward sunlight. The visual concept is enriched by nature photography curated by Massimo Gardone and Alessandra Muran, establishing a dialogue between light and matter. Together with the experimental dimension of UrbanGrid at Officina, the installation reinforces MV Line’s contribution to Milan Design Week as a platform for innovation, exchange, and design culture.
