Under the willow tree
Palazzo Litta, Corso Magenta, 24
15-21 April, h. 10am-7:30pm
Palazzo Litta, which has evolved into one of the most captivating venues during Milano Design Week, this year hosts Under the Willow Tree, an installation by Sara Ricciardi that explores the themes of grace and poetry.
Using trimmings sourced from the Antica Fabbrica Passamanerie Massia Vittorio 1843 in Turin, Ricciardi crafted the intricate branches of a large tree, evoking the elegant curves of a willow, gently swaying in harmony with its surroundings. Hanging from each “branch” are small bells (chime bars) tuned by music therapist and musician Paolo Borghi, who has transformed metal into an experiential instrument. A visit to the installation is enchanting, as the work aims to be an eloquent symbol of the cycle of life, female cyclicity and the influence of the moon.
